Every year, there are 2 equinoxes, one in September called the Autumn Equinox, one in March called the Spring Equinox. The equinox is when the sun shines directly on the equator. The length of day and night is almost exactly the same and the energies of day and night are in balance.
The Fall Equinox is right between Summer and Fall. Spring and Summer are about our personal growth but Fall is about improving and creating. The Equinox is a place of wisdom to reconnect with nature, reflect upon what we have harvested during the year, express gratitude and redefine who we are, where we’re going and what is coming in the year ahead. It’s a time to conquer our inner fears and darkness and bring balance to our life and within. It’s a time to welcome opportunities and new energy to our life.
The Fall Equinox occurs either on September 22, 23 or 24 every year. This year, in Los Angeles, California, it will be on Monday, September 22 at 7:29pm (PST) and in Paris, France, it will be on Tuesday, September 23 at 4:29am. However, in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the Autumn Equinox will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 2:29am UTC.
Happy Equinox!
