Today, February 1st, the lunar New Year of the Water Tiger is celebrated all around the world. It symbolizes the beginning of spring and the start of a new year, according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
The Year of the Water Tiger happens once every 60 years. The last time was in 1962, a year full of important events, and before that, in 1902. This solar year, which we use in Feng Shui, will begin February 4, 2022 at 4:58am, Universal Time – time at the Greenwich Meridian to avoid any time zone and international date line confusion.
If you were born in 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998 or 2010 you were born during the year of the Tiger. If you were born on or before February 3, 4 or 5th, you belong to the previous year. Find out your Gua number and Animal Sign.
The Tiger is third in the 12 animal Chinese zodiac. Tigers are confident, courageous, tenacious, competitive, and ambitious. Usually outspoken and enjoying taking risks, Tigers are comfortable at giving orders, not much at receiving them. They need adventures and excitement in life, they’re impulsive and unpredictable, yet, generous to their loved ones and passionate about causes close to their heart.
Although it is a Water Tiger year, Wood and Fire are stronger elements than Water this year. Yet, Water makes the Tiger more tolerant, understanding, and open-minded; it will help soften 2022.
Every year new constellations and energies visit the eight cardinal and inter-cardinal directions and influence what is going on in the world and are felt by the occupants in your home and workspace. According to the energy in that sector, it will have an auspicious or inauspicious impact on you and your life if your home or business’s front door faces that direction, if you sleep with your head to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, if you cook regularly and the stove knobs face the direction, or if you often use a door opening to the direction.
If I have already Feng Shui-ed your space, the information below does not apply since I used more advanced formulae and analysis to update and support your environment.
This year, the CENTER PALACE of your home and workspace, is governed by the Five Yellow Star or Wu Wang in Chinese. It is often seen as an affliction, a troublemaker, a disaster star and can negatively affect all areas of your life, but “5” is also a leader and every 9 years, it visits the center sector as bringing us back to balance with a new cycle. This is to us to mitigate the negative aspects and navigate through its challenges, avoiding its misfortunes. Keep this sector as calm and quiet as possible and avoid any renovations, remodeling, drilling, and hammering. It is best to postpone any work in this sector this year.
In the NORTH, the “1” Nobleman Energy is visiting. It is great for self- improvement, literary and academic achievements as well as money. So, if your front door faces North, if you sleep to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, this year may bring good luck, offer great opportunities and money.
The NORTHEAST is being visited by the “8” Wealth & Finance Energy. The “8” boosts money, honor, loyalty, and wealth in general. If possible, transform the sector in a family room or a home office to spend as much time as possible there and enjoy the positive energy.
In the EAST, the annual “3” Energy of Arguments visits. Act, react and behave with caution since it indicates gossips, misunderstanding, fighting, arguments, and legal issues. If your bedroom is located in this sector, you and your partner may end up arguing a lot. If your home and front door face East, hang brass bells to weaken the energy.
In the SOUTHEAST, the “4” Romance, Travel and Academic Energy visits. It may stimulate your creativity and book writing, offer you publicity and recognition, take you on trips, develop some loving energy and romance – and if you are single, it may help you attract a partner into your life. This direction supports people in the entertainment industry. If your home and front door face Southeast you may experience a great year for career and romance.
In the SOUTH, the “9” Long Term Prosperity Energy indicates future wealth, such as return on investments like the stock market, IRAs, 401k, real estate, as well as success in your career and overall happiness. Celebrations and marriage are in the air!
In the SOUTHWEST, the “2” Energy of Health visits and makes you prone to health issues in the reproductive organs, stomach and digestive system. You may have difficulty becoming pregnant or suffer from depression. Metal, such as brass bells in this area can help weaken this negative energy. Avoid using a door to Southwest unless you work in real estate or construction.
In the WEST, the “7” Energy of Robbers and Thieves is visiting and it may make your life and business difficult with deals falling through, people who owe you money not reimbursing you, as well as people sweet talking and stealing from you – material or intellectual property. Be aware! If your front door is located in the West, lock the door and turn on the alarm system. The “7” may indicate teeth, mouth, throat, lung and any respiratory system issues.
The NORTHWEST is visited by the “6” Energy of Power and Recognition. You may have to work hard for your money, yet it’ll be good for your career and provide more business, more opportunities, and reward your efforts.
Keep in mind that if the overall Feng Shui of your home is good, you’ll be less or little affected by the negative visiting energies, however, there is always a way to make things better.
