The Year of the Wood Dragon happens once every 60 years. The last time was in 1964 and the next one will be in 2084. The previous Dragon year was 2012 (Water Dragon) and the next one will be 2036 (Fire Dragon), each sign rules every 12 years.
If you were born in 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 or 2012 you were born during a Year of the Dragon, like Joan of Arc, Julius Caesar or Bruce Lee.
The Dragon is the animal sign ruling 2024. It is the fifth out of the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac. It comes after the Rat, Ox, Tiger and Rabbit and before the Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
In traditional Chinese culture, the Dragon is the guardian of wealth and power. The Dragon is a doer, noble and powerful and symbolises honor, luck and success. It is energetic, self-assured, sometimes egocentric. Dragon likes things done their way, they demand perfection from others and themselves too. It is a supernatural being with many talents.
Dragon years are far from being passive; Dragons make things happen. With the elements of Fire and Wood, be ready for a volatile and unpredictable year. We could see some action and reaction, disruption and chaos as well as some excitement and success. We are ending Period 8 (2004-2024) and entering Period 9 (2024-2044), a new 20 year Feng Shui cycle with strong possibility of big changes. This is a major shift. In addition, this new cycle will complete a full 180 year cycle (9 periods of 20 years each). It is an excellent time to reflect, complete, conclude, revive, and renew. It might as well be a favorable year to make the changes you have been dreaming about for so long.
This year may show us some environmental issues such as flooding, earthquakes, big sudden storms, and landslides. Do something to protect our planet, plant a tree, conserve water, choose sustainable…
