On The Feng Shui Road

On The Feng Shui Road

The last two months have been a whirlwind of education, growth, fun and excitement!

As you may know, I gave a Feng Shui presentation at the Annual World Conference of Feng Shui in Delhi, India, in February. It was amazing!

The Conference was held at a retreat center in the madness of this gigantic city of 19 million people (compared to barely 3.25 millions in Los Angeles) – and so many cows!

When traveling, it is important to be open, spontaneous, flexible, patient, and go with the flow… I ended up giving 2 speeches – only one was planned! But it all went well being authentic and talking from my heart and experience.

My fellow speakers were experts and PhDs in Oriental Heritage Arts, such as Feng Shui, Vastu Shastra, Astrology and Oriental Medicine. I had the honor and privilege to sit on the conference panel with them, left on the back row.

During a break, I was asked for an impromptu palm reading, which ended up being quite fascinating.

My husband and I enjoyed Kulfi, which is a type of ice cream. I particularly liked pistachio kulfi in Delhi, which was so refreshing after a long warm day at the conference.

How to make Pistachio Kulfi:

4 cups of milk
1/2 tablespoon of rice flour
1.5 oz sugar
1 oz ground unsalted pistachio nuts
2 1/2 tablespoon of heavy cream, lightly whipped
a few drops of rose water
a few unsalted pistachios nuts, crushed

Pour the milk into a large saucepan, bring to a boil, let simmer until it has reduced by half, about 45 minutes.
Let it cool slightly. Add the rice flour and cook stirring constantly, for about 15 minutes.
Add the sugar and stir. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
When cool, stir in the ground pistachios, cream, rose water, and crushed pistachios.
Place in a large container and freeze or use an ice-cream maker.
Allow the kulfi to soften for a few minutes before serving.

Then, off to Darjeeling, which is real tea heaven and I truly enjoyed freshly picked Spring flush tea, Moonlight flush and the stronger Autumn flush. I love them all – so delicious, especially after the sunrise over the Himalayas, watching the 3 highest mountains in the world slowly turn pink in the early morning glacial wind. (Mt Everest, K2 and Kangchenjunga)

Sunrise over the Himalayas

The high mountains inspired me and below is the way less impressive rock I climbed! Still, more than 1200 steps to the top! Not bad! This is roughly the equivalent to climbing 60 flights of stairs in a 60 story building. And the best reward was a spectacular sunset!

This journey was amplified with so many animals, cows, water buffalos, red pandas, birds, butterflies, giant caterpillars, and monkeys. Monkeys everywhere! But my heart went to this company of monkeys on our bedroom balcony in the early morning.

And of course, the majestic elephants eating dinner in the heavy warm rain. I cannot imagine a world without them, can you?

This journey was magical thanks to the people we met, the food, scents, sounds, colors, madness, wildlife, spirituality, and the life lessons experienced day after day. I returned filled with gratitude, humility, tons of renewed energy, and a lot of exciting projects.

Thank you all for your patience. I am back.

Namaste!
