The Year of the Earth Dog is about to end and the year of the Earth Pig is just a few days away. The solar year starts on February 4 and the lunar year on February 5. Although the Lunar year is more celebrated, it is more appropriate to use the solar New Year for analysis in classical Feng Shui.
The Pig is the twelfth and last of the Chinese animal zodiac. According to Chinese folklore, the Jade Emperor decided that the order of the animals would be based on the order they arrive at his party. The Pig overslept and arrived last.
The Year of the Earth Pig happens once every 60 years. The last time was in 1959 and before that in 1899.
2019 may be a slow year and lack energy to some extent, yet with growth, innovations and discoveries in technology (space exploration), the energy industry (oil and gas), entertainment – regardless of the continuing scandals, and a greater connection through social media. People may have a sense of frustration and disapproval toward their government, which may guide them to take action.
The strong element of Fire in the Year of the Pig will bring rumors, scandals, natural disasters such as flooding and fires, geopolitical tensions and conflicts, and may slow down the real estate market.
The Pig (2019) being less rowdy than the Dog (2018), the world may seem to look better on the outside while being more troubled on the inside.
This Year Pig is an opportunity to resolve conflicts, overcome obstacles, make the best out of any situation, avoid distraction and remain focused.
Every year new energies visit the eight cardinal and inter-cardinal directions. According to the energy in that sector, it will have an auspicious or inauspicious impact on you and your life if your home or business faces that direction, if you sleep with your head to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, if you cook a lot and your stove knobs face the direction, or if you often use a door opening to the direction.
These new annual energies can affect you in many ways as discussed below:
In the NORTH, the “4” Romance, Travel and Academic Energy visits. It may stimulate your creativity and book writing, offer you recognition, take you on trips, develop some loving energy and romance – and if you are single, it may help you attract a partner into your life.
In the NORTHEAST, the “2” Energy of Health visits and makes you prone to health issues, mostly in the reproductive organs, stomach and digestive system as well as having difficulty becoming pregnant. You may also suffer from depression. Metal can help weaken this negative energy.
In the EAST, the “6” Energy of Power and Recognition is visiting this year. It may be good for your career and provide needed support, more business and opportunities, bring recognition, money, authority and power at work and reward your efforts.
In the SOUTH EAST, the “7” Energy of Robbers and Thieves is visiting and it may make your life and business difficult with deals falling through, people who owe you money not reimbursing you, as well as people sweet talking and stealing from you. Be aware! If your front door is located in the Southeast, turn on the alarm system.
In the SOUTH, the annual “3” Energy of Arguments visits. Act, react and behave with caution since it indicates gossips, misunderstanding, fighting, arguments, and legal issues. If your bedroom is located in this sector, you and your partner may end up arguing a lot.
In the SOUTHWEST, the “5” Yellow Star Energy or Wu Wang in Chinese, is visiting. It is a major troublemaker in pretty much all areas including money, relationships and health. Keep this sector as calm as possible. Avoid any renovation, remodeling, drilling, hammering, and digging.
In the WEST, the “1” Nobleman Energy is visiting. It is great for self- improvement, literary and academic achievements as well as money. So, if your front door faces West, if you sleep to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, this year may offer great opportunities.
In the NORTHWEST, the “9” Long Term Prosperity Energy indicates future wealth, such as return on investments like the stock market, IRAs, 401k, as well as success in your career and overall happiness.
The CENTER PALACE of your home will be governed by the “8” Wealth & Finance Energy this year. The “8” boosts money, honor, loyalty, and wealth in general. Transform it in a family room or a home office to spend as much time there.
If you were born in the year of the Snake, it clashes with the year of the Pig and you may experience a challenging year and unexpected changes.
If you were born in the year of the Goat or the Rabbit, you are in harmony with the Pig. If your animal sign is the Goat, 2019 may be a year to take care of yourself and your health, refocus, reassess your goals and make changes accordingly. If your animal sign is the Rabbit, get ready for an amazing year in regard to wealth, work and relationships.
Keep in mind that if the overall Feng Shui of your home is good, you’ll be less or little affected by the negative visiting energies.
This year can be very positive depending on what energy is being activated in your home and business. New energy is needed to clean out the old and manifest new opportunities to take us to the next level.
The Year of the Earth Pig will be what you make of it, so make it an amazing year!
