The Year of the Fire Rooster is about to end and the year of the Earth Dog is fast approaching with a solar start on February 4, 2018 and a lunar start on February 16. Although the Lunar year is more celebrated, it is more appropriate to use the solar New Year for analysis in classical Feng Shui.
The year of the Earth Dog happens once every 60 years! The last time was in 1958 and before that in 1898. Each year brings a distinct Qi and the Dog years are creative and favorable to Arts and Academics.
The Earth Dog is the symbol of friendship, compatibility, loyalty, and integrity. The Dog person is kind, generous and trustworthy, with a need for justice and always here to help. The Dog is very talented and perceptive, reserved and quiet but persuasive to reach her/his goals. In order to remain centered, the Dog needs to have a purpose in life. Dogs can have a tad of a temper and a tendency to worry too much.
Every year new energies visit the eight cardinal and inter-cardinal directions. According to the energy in that sector, it will have an auspicious or inaus-picious impact on you and your life if your home or business faces that direction, if you sleep with your head to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, if you cook a lot and your stove knobs face the direction, or if you often use a door opening to the direction.
These new annual energies can affect you in many ways as discussed below:
In the SOUTHEAST, the “8” Wealth Energy visits this year. The “8” boosts money, honor, loyalty and wealth. If it is activated, it will be a rewarding year for money, finances and wealth in general.
In the SOUTH, the “4” Romantic and Academic Energy visits. It may stimulate your creativity and book writing, offer you recognition, take you on trips, develop some loving energy and romance – and if you are single, it may help you attract a partner into your life. If you’re in a relationship you may get married, especially if you sleep with your head to the South.
In the SOUTHWEST, the “6” Benevolent Energy is visiting this year. It may be good for your career and provide needed support; it also means you’ll have to work hard for your money.
In the WEST, the “2” Energy of Health visits and makes you prone to health issues, mostly in the reproductive organs, stomach and digestive system as well as having difficulty becoming pregnant. You may also suffer from depression. Metal can help weaken this negative energy.
In the NORTHWEST, the “1” Nobleman Energy is visiting. It is great for money and wealth and also for academic achievements and success in writing. So, if your home or business faces Northwest, if you sleep to it, work or spend long periods of time facing it, it will be a great year!
In the NORTH, the “5” Yellow Star Energy or Wu Wang in Chinese, is visiting. It is a major troublemaker in pretty much all areas including money, relationships and health. If this energy is activated in your home, you may consider moving your bed and your desk for an easy fix. North is a sector to avoid in 2018.
In the NORTHEAST, the annual “3” Energy of Quarrels visits. Act, react and behave with cautionsince it indicates gossips, misunderstanding, fighting, arguments, and legal issues. If you’re using this direction be mindful of your relationships with others and take caution when driving to avoid speeding and parking tickets. The man in the house or in the office may be short tempered and less tolerant and it could cause some conflicts.
In the EAST, the “7” Energy of Robbers and Thieves is visiting and it may make your life and business difficult with deals falling through, people who owe you money not reimbursing you, as well as people sweet talking and stealing from you. Be aware!
The CENTER of the property will be governed by the “9” Long Term Prosperity Energy. It indicates future wealth, such as return on investments like the stock market, IRAs, 401k. This energy also helps diplomatic relationships, brings great achievements, recognition, promotions and bonuses, spiritual growth, celebrations, engagements and weddings. It is particularly benevolent to people in the restaurant industry, interior design, and the beauty world.
If you were born in the year of the Dog, you may go through ups and downs and a fair amount of successes and problems, however, your career may be stable and your relationships lucky.
Keep in mind that if the overall Feng Shui of your home is good, you’ll be less or little affected by the negative visiting energies.
This year can be very positive depending on what energy is being activated in your home and business. New energy is needed to clean out the old and manifest new opportunities to take us to the next level.
The Year of the Earth Dog will be what you make of it, so make it an amazing year!
